1. Aren’t Ceaser and his wife independent of each other? especially, in certain contexts? Also, its possible that Ceaser’s interests are in conflict with his wife’s interests. In such a case, won’t Ceaser being way below suspicion may actually prove that Ceaser’s wife is beyond suspicion?

4. What exactly is below suspicion ? Proven guilty ? Irrespective of the semantics, the statement above needs greater clarity. The question here is are the first 2 sentences are linked. ie one concedes that cesar’s wife is above suspicion if and only if cesar is. In which case the wife will screw around if cesar does. (of course he does) The original context was sexual, ie cesar’s wife should be above the suspicion of cohabiting with someone else. As far as i know there was no such restrictions on her spouse. Nor was it exptected. This statement makes me reflect on gender equations and how much our society has changed in the last millenium…Thanks.

5. If Caeser himself is below suspicion then its only fair to expect Caesar’s wife to be so too. Infact the question about Caeser’s wife becomes irrelevant in this scenario. When something fails the primary test, the secondary test becomes irrelevant for it is there merely to confirm the result of the primary test, if succeeded.
