The San Francisco Bay Bridge

A lovely picture of the SF Bay Bridge which connects San Francisco, CA in the west to Oakland, CA in the east across the San Francisco Bay. The bridge is in two parts. From SF the bridge stretches to Treasure Island, and then on to Oakland. The picture above is the part from SF to Treasure Island (seen in the far left.)

The other part was recently rebuilt. Here’s a picture of the new part of the Bay Bridge from Treasure Island to Oakland on the far side. To the left of where the bridge touches land, are the Berkeley hills. The brightly lit bit on the right is the port of Oakland.

I have crossed the Bay bridge dozens of times over the decades I lived in the SF Bay area, particularly during the eight years I lived in Berkeley, CA.
