Javier Milei

Tully Road San Jose CA

I was delighted to hear Javier Milei’s address to the 2024 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland. He was absolutely devastating in his support of free-market capitalism and his opposition to big government. After becoming the president of Argentina last month, as a committed libertarian he wants to set his country on a path to economic growth by reducing the size of the government.

His talk was music to my ears. He is a trained economist and understands the process that creates wealth. In his talk, he was explicit in his condemnation of neoclassical economics. Clearly he understands Austrian economics. He even mentioned Israel Kirzner, one of the greatest living economists in the Austrian school tradition.

Milei is for freedom, free markets and capitalism. He ended his talk with a defiant “Long live freedom, damn it!”

Here’s another AI generated English version of his talk.

But wait, there’s more. Kevin Roberts of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank in the US, was also direct in his condemnation of the WEF agenda.

The above is an excerpt from a longer bit here.

So all in all, Milei and Roberts told the WEF elites where they get off. I wish India had a Milei.
