Dr Subramanian Swamy is pulling no punches in his fight against corruption in India. He appears to be the only high-profile politician who has taken up cudgels against Antonia Maino, aka Sonia Gandhi, the woman who appointed Dr Manmohan Singh the prime minister of the Congress-led UPA government. I wish that there were others in the media and in politics who had the chutzpah to take on the unholy bunch that is wrecking India. Dr Swamy says that Sonia Gandhi is the “Gangotri” of corruption in the country.
The news item in Hindustan Times has a bit more. (Peculiarly the Indian Express had that same content but it is missing now. Perhaps they were advised to take it off.)
“The JPC probe (into alleged irregularities in the 2G spectrum) will serve to humiliate the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and he may resign which is what Sonia Gandhi wants,” Swamy said.
“The Opposition should take care that they don’t play Sonia Gandhi’s game,” he said after meeting Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray at the latter’s residence in suburban Bandra in Mumbai.

On whether the Opposition was playing into her hands, Swamy said “I think if the PM were forced to resign at this juncture, you are empowering Sonia Gandhi…so that she is free to bring in Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister.”“I have urged Balasaheb (Thackeray) to organise a rally against corruption and he has agreed for it. It will be held at the Shivaji Park,” Swamy said.
Sonia Gandhi was “Gangotri” (fountainhead) of corruption in the country, Swamy said. “I requested Balasaheb to lead the country and get rid of the rampant corruption,” he said.
So how do I feel about Bal Thackeray being asked by Dr Swamy to join in the fight against corruption? Absolutely positively. I think the problem of corruption is deep and extensive. It has taken decades to grow its tentacles and now it threatens the choke the life out of India. In my imagination, it appears like a hydra-headed monster. The more people take up arms against the monster the better. Bal Thackeray is welcome to add his voice and lead his followers to battle against corruption. We all have to do our bit.
Let’s cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war amongst those who are bent on destroying the country.

btw raul vinci is not to be seen or heard of late. Is he taking some lessons in dirty politics in some secret hideouts. Perhaps ghost advisors, as Jethmalani puts it, manu singhvi and mani shakar aiyer would have advised sonia to keep him away from media for a while.

Raul Vinci recently had a shameful encounter with students in Gujarat. He probably was trying to imitate Obama who interacted with students. Let us not get surprised if Raul too just like his great grandfather suddenly discovers love for little children and interact only with them instead of youth.
