  1. third rate mental masturbation…
One can simply look at actual R&D done for any field which leads to better life for all and then put a single dot for each event.
All those countries would be blank of have less than 5 dots and US would run out space.

  2. @lurker, Hogwash at stolen R&D.
Most white Americans are of Germanic Descent and most indians dont do R&D in US.(since when did IT become R&D)
Lets see count the number of innovations coming out of US since Bush Administration(I am not saying he caused it) and put a .
(and subtract 10 dots for indian accomplishment.)
Besides China none of those countries would have a single dot. And US box will be out of space.
So wank all you want with it.

“USA – R&D? All stolen brain power! ”

Why brains are going there rather than coming to India? It takes brain to make a country attractive for right people. Anyway, I dont believe, USA is leading because of “stolen brain power”.

I have studied in a topline Indian research institute for two years and have seen the kind of “brains” that are there to lead indian innovations!

  5. Bush jokes no longer make me laugh. Maybe the man is an idiot; but he knows what he wants to do and sticks to it. Not like the morons we have in India. When I compare what we have here, Arjun Singh, Shivraj Patil, etc., I dont feel like laughing at Bush.

  6. hi atanu,
i am a recent subscriber to your blog and really am impressed with your observations and views….such indepth knowledge of whatever you write, logical conclusions, + a die for english vocab!! i think your blog should be part of our school curriculam…for young minds should imbibe the values which will make them better persons…
as you have already said somewhere in your blog that CHANGE IS ENDOGENOUS, the best way will be fine tuning the young minds which can be moulded.
i feel the more i read your blog, (and maybe other likeminded persons) the more frustrated i get with the ground reality…its depressing..
but please keep on the good work as who knows…maybe your writings may rub on to some persons in power (if they happen to read) who can change a few things!!!!

I discovered this blog a couple of months back and didn’t want to go to the trouble of registering to comment. Thanks for providing a common handle for occasional posters like me.

This comment is for “Vaidehi” (and all others) who kowtowed (and continue to kowtow) China and disparaged (and continue to disparage) and made fun of India in the comments section of the article “The World’s Most Innovative Companies”. And that includes Atanu himself.

Say what you may about the nepotism, corruption, high-handedness, gluttony, inefficiency, arrogance and what not, of Indian politicians. They would be mostly true much of the time in regard to most of them.

But, there has NEVER been any Systemic mass killing of its citizens by Indian Government.

Anybody who gushes about the current economic development of China feigning ignorance of the Great Leap Forward of Mao that resulted in the killing of nearly 40 million people within a span of less than half-a-decade is the most horrendous example of a “useful idiot”, an expression attributed to Lenin when he described those starry-eyed Westerners who dreamt of (and still dream of) bringing Communism to the West (USA mostly).

Say Ms. Vaidehi, you wrote; “India will tide over famine by gorging on cricket stumps, bats and scores in tandem with greedily ogling at filmi nautanki on TV.”

What about the hundreds of millions of unemployed rural Chinese? Are they going to tide over THEIR famine (by the way, where is the famine in India Ms. Vaidehi?) with the dozens of Olympic Gold Medals their “brothern” are going to get in the extravaganza?

  9. That “Notsure” links to Jihad Watch – makes (non) sense! Maybe some one somewhere should make a “US Watch” because what these people have in their “democracy” sales brochure is not the product they deliver to your doorstep!

  10. Well Start your US watch website, by allmeans.
Guess What you can host such a site in US.
You can’t host a site criticizing governments in any way you choose in any of those countries(except W’s) and you can not criticize Islam or mohammad Who was an illiterate murderer a warmonger and pedophiles misogynist.

There is no discussions coming out of islamic culture I’d say you are enganging in wanking.
Even French islamic culture where restoring virginity is a surgery that women are seeking.

I know it is a clash of civilization and islam started it, With Darul Harb and Darul Islam.

  13. Dear Notsure,
Since your later comments seem to be directed at myself – here is my response:
You are making assumptions – bordering on absolute stupidity.
    1. I am not a muslim, nor did i make any comments for or against islam.
    2. I am a Bhramin by birth but an atheist by conviction. Refer Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris Dan Dennet et al.
    3. Religion any form does not feature in my concept of rationality.
    4. I have spent time in the US since the 70’s.
    5. I am a pacifist – abhor all forms of violence.
    6. and finally – i don’t give a shit about america – like most sane people, i would very much appreciate it, if they would just go about minding their OWN business and solving their own gigantic internal problems, without exporting them to those unfortunate, lesser privileged, unsuspecting inhabitants of the planet. Thankfully, one of which I am not!
Apparently, the only tool in your (collective) tool-box is a hammer and even a child will tell you, you can’t repair a radio with that.

PS Stoning, raping and other forms of acute violence against your fellow man, is very accurately prescribed in your “holy book” as well.

And dumbass whose “HOLY BOOK” are you refering too?
You are a dumbass who has made assumptions about my holybooks my assumption about you.

Shame on you for not giving a shit and repeatedly coming to US since the 70’s.
And spare some sanctimony regarding unsuspecting inhabitants.
Perhaps you ought to live in your own land wagging your finger at the rest of the world and working on your huge centuries old problem rather than coming to US.
You smug guys shouldnt talk about hammer as a tool, when in your country its obvious that many havent even learned how to use a simple tool like shoes, or bags. You see them walking barefooted carrying stuff on their heads. Just 4 years ago when i was there, people were astonished by Torx screw drivers. These were not kids seing it for first time but factory technicians. Some with 20 years of expereince. Oh yeah you guys have all the tools in your box.
